About La Table
La Table Française d'Arnaudville began on June 24, 2006, because Mavis Arnaud Frugé believed that people would come and participate.  When she was pressed for a reason why folks should come, she said:  "We'll bait them."  Mavis donned her chef's hat and fried beignets on the banks of Bayou Teche and over one hundred participants arrived and were thrilled with the event. Offering hot coffee and pastries, Mavis continues to work at preserving her culture and her French language.

On Saturday, September 27, 2008, Mavis brought jacks and marbles and questioned the group about the games of their childhood.  The participation was remarkable.  The brioche and the coffee was delicious!

Always the last Saturday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, La Table Française d'Arnaudville is located in the Singleton Lumber Building on Highway 93 in Arnaudville.  It is always is a fun gathering of French-speaking people.  Join the group.  Come enjoy breakfast en francais where we try to speak only French.  Sometimes Bouree is played or songs are sung -- in French, of course. Learn a French "word of the day."  There are always interesting people to meet. It's easy to get hooked on this event!
